Successful transradial percutaneous coronary intervention with radial artery anomaly.

چکیده
The transradial approach as an access for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been widely adopted. However, anatomical variations and stenoses may pose significant challenges to the operator. We report a case of successful transradial PCI in a patient with a complete radioulnar loop.

Safety and feasibility of the new 5 Fr Glidesheath Slender.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and feasibility of the new 5 Fr Glidesheath Slender (GSS). The transradial (TR) approach has become popular because of several advantages, such as a reduced rate of vascular access site complications. However, because the radial artery is narrow, a limitation of TR access is the potential for artery spasm or occlusion. Studies of radial artery si...
متن کاملCollateral arterial formation in a severed brachial artery causing difficult transradial access during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.
In this article, we describe about a 49-year-old patient who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention for a non-Q wave myocardial infarction via a transradial approach. The procedure was technically difficult, and the following fluroscopic image was obtained soon after radial arterial puncture (Figure 1). Further questioning revealed that the patient suffered a fall in 1975 while working in...
متن کاملRotational atherectomy via transradial access in the percutaneous treatment of chronic coronary total occlusion with rare complication of coronary guidewire transection
Introduction C total coronary occlusion remains one of the limitations of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, and few therapeutic devices are specifically designed to address this problem. Despite advances in device technology, the management of resistant, calcific lesions remains one of the greatest challenges in successful chronic total coronary occlusion intervention. Established...
متن کاملAn alternative approach in tortuous coronary artery and distal stenosis during transradial percutaneous coronary intervention: deep engagement by a 5-Fr guiding catheter.
Transradial approach for percutaneous interventions has emerged as an alternative to transfemoral access which is known to be more associated with vascular local complications. However, lack of guiding-catheter support via the radial access is one of the problems encountering the operators. Many solutions have been proposed to overcome this problem. We report on a 62-year-old man with tight ste...
متن کاملTransulnar artery approach for percutaneous coronary intervention: an alternative route in a patient with challenging transfemoral access and hypoplastic radial artery.
Transradial coronary angiography and intervention has become a popular technique due to reduced local and bleeding complications, easier post-procedural care and patient preference. In certain patients, transradial access may not be possible due to various anatomical reasons. Usually, the transfemoral route is used for these patients. In a minority of patients, such as those with significant pe...
